We are a grass roots community with a shared vision for elevating and legitimizing female skim boarding.
We are passionate about empowering the female athletes of this sport with the same opportunities and resources as their male counterparts; and we think it is high time that the women of skim boarding are treated as equals and given the respect they’re due.
With endeavors ranging from acclaimed documentary film-making, to web portal community hosting, and the first-ever international organization for female skim boarders (WISBA), SkimChicks is hard at work driving a movement for an all-female pro tour and encouraging global recognition of the female athletes of this sport.
As an athlete-first organization, SkimChicks is taking a proactive approach to uplifting and elevating the sport of female skim boarding, uniting the thousands of female pioneers from around the world, and establishing a platform in which these athletes can showcase their skills. SkimChicks is taking on the challenge of bringing female skim boarding into the limelight head on, and has set out to accomplish these three core objectives:
1. To organize the sport by helping to establish the first professional tour for women.
2. To help legitimize and garner recognition of the sport by getting the tour televised.
3. To globalize the sport by making it an Olympic event. After all, this platform is the height of international competition.
The vision is well within reach.
